Aamir Khan’s meeting with Emine Erdoğan starts at a time when India's relationship with Turkey has broken, particularly after Article 370 was scrapped in J&K last year.
New Delhi: Actor Aamir Khan recently met Turkey’s First Lady Emine Erdoğan to get permission for the filming of his upcoming film Laal Singh Chaddha, a remake of the 1994 US comedy-drama Forrest Gump, in the country.
The meeting was held Saturday at Amir Khan’s request at the presidential residence in Istanbul.
According to the Turkish media portal Daily Sabah, Erdoğan “congratulated him for his handling of social problems in his films”. They also discussed about the “similarities” in the Indian and Turkish cultures.
This is not the first time that Amir Khan has visited Turkey. In 2017, the Turkish government had sent him an invitation to promote his film Superstar in the country.
